ABOUT IRIS KURAKI
Iris Kuraki writes stories about the distance between who people are and who they appear to be.
Her work explores perception, identity, belonging, and the hidden emotional worlds that shape human relationships. Influenced by both Japanese and international perspectives, she writes in English and Japanese and is fascinated by the ways people create, misunderstand, and redefine themselves.
Her first publication, Whoever Fights This Man (2026), is a cozy mystery novella set at a university. Her second notable work, Excuse Me, Does Me Being Pretty Bother You?, explores beauty, friendship, and the influence of social media on relationships among young women.
